SUBWAY® Cares for Kids Day raises funds for Children’s Miracle Network
Second Annual Fundraiser Helps Local Pediatric Hospitals in Saskatchewan, Ontario, Newfoundland and the Maritime Provinces
SUBWAY® Canada employees and their customers once again showed their dedication to their communities by raising a total of $230,915 for Children's Miracle Network during its second annual SUBWAY® Cares for Kids Campaign. Funds raised support four children’s hospitals across Canada including Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan, Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Foundation, IWK Foundation, and the Janeway Children’s Hospital Foundation. SUBWAY® Cares for Kids Day took place on April 16th in over 450 SUBWAY® Restaurants across six provinces.
SUBWAY® Canada employees raised the funds by asking customers to purchase “Miracle Balloon” icons to support Children's Miracle Network, a charity that raises funds for 170 children's hospitals, 14 of which are in Canada. Customer donations will be used to help provide much needed treatment, specialized equipment and pediatric program funding for sick and injured kids for Children’s Miracle Network member hospitals.
“The Miracle Balloons seen at SUBWAY® restaurants this spring symbolize a commitment to helping children get the best in localized pediatric care. A $1 donation is all it takes to start making a difference,” said John Hartman, Chief Operating Officer for Children’s Miracle Network in Canada.
