2018 Miracle Million Club Milestones

Can you believe that the year is almost over? As we get ready to say goodbye to 2018, we’d like to take the time to pay tribute to our Miracle Million Club partners and the outstanding accomplishments that were made this year.

Walmart

We have a billion reasons why we’re thankful for Walmart’s partnership, and them reaching $1 billion raised for children’s hospitals across Canada really shows us how dedicated they are to helping kids live better.

We captured content from our in-store celebrations and produced three videos to focus on associates, the impact of $1 billion, and to celebrate the accomplishment of Walmart’s fundraising total as it’s the most donated by one company to a non-profit in North America. View our announcement video below.

Dairy Queen

August is a month we look forward to all year long, as Miracle Treat Day is a special day for children’s hospitals and Blizzard Treat enthusiasts across Canada. This year was no exception, as Dairy Queen really hit the mark with their highest fundraising total EVER for Miracle Treat Day! They stepped it up this year, and we couldn’t be more thankful for their continued efforts to make this a magical day for everyone involved.

We had the pleasure of joining Dairy Queen in Stayner, Ontario where we surprised former SickKids patient Raymond with the news that he’d be throwing the first pitch at the Toronto Blue Jays game on August 8th. Raymond did a great job.

Dairy Queen continues to amaze us with their dedication to helping children across Canada, and we look forward to seeing what they accomplish in 2019!

RE/MAX

Have you heard about Bruce Johnson and his Motorcycle for Miracles? Founded in 2013, Motorcycle for Miracles is a fundraising journey for Children’s Miracle Network member hospitals. Bruce, a RE/MAX agent in Wasaga Beach, started out this year’s ride in August 2018 during the RE/MAX “Month of Miracles” for Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) hospitals, and embarked on his ride approximately 28,000 kilometres from the arctic village of Tuktoyaktuk, Northwest Territories, Canada to Ushuaia, Argentina, the southernmost town in the world.

Bruce’s motivation for this ride is in honour of his daughter Alyssa Rae, who passed away during treatment at SickKids shortly after birth.

In an astonishing fundraising feat, Bruce and his supporters raised (as of November 6) $254,562 towards his goal of $300,000! We have no doubts Bruce will reach and exceed this total. To follow his journey, follow his Facebook page here.

Air Canada Foundation

This year was one for the books for this beloved Canadian airline foundation, as the Air Canada Foundation nearly doubled their grant donations to hospitals in 2018, the highest ever donated.

A strong supporter since 1994, Air Canada Foundation provides thousands of flights for families and kids, allocating Aeroplan Miles to the Hospital Transportation Program that gets patients and families to the care they need.  Aeroplan members are encouraged to donate their miles to the Air Canada Foundation to be used for the Hospital Transportation Program.

This year’s Matching Miles campaign is already making waves, as over 1 million miles were donated within the first few days of the campaign! With a few days left of the 2018 campaign, we can’t wait to see what the final totals will be! Click here to donate your miles today to help kids like Auguste.

Costco

Costco’s team has put Children’s Miracle Network at the top of their agenda, with the exceptional leadership from the CEO, Senior Executives and Regional Marketing Managers. In addition to investing significantly in a corporate match program, the executive team energizes and supports associates in a huge way, enabling them to continue to raise the bar in support of kids.

Costco team members hit the links this year in Ottawa & Burnaby to drive their fundraising totals to great distances! This year’s tournaments were a huge success, raising the most they’ve ever raised for Children’s Miracle Network member hospitals.

Since the partnership began, Costco has raised more than $74 million in support of Children’s Miracle Network hospitals in Canada. Thank you, Costco, for being a great supporter of children’s health.

The Brick

The Brick’s passion to help “improve the lives of children brick-by-brick,” is evident in all of its stores during their campaign period.

This year, The Brick raised $1 million from in-store fundraising efforts! This is a first time accomplishment for The Brick, and one they should be proud of! The Brick associates showed their dedication and an admirable amount of effort in raising these funds, and we know the sky is the limit going forward for this dynamic team!

  1. I am a Miracle Agent from Re/Max Sarnia Realty and I must say…there is nothing like being a part of the Children’s Miracle Network. Bruce Johnson is an amazing person and has created a huge presence with the help of his wife and daughters. He makes us very proud.
