When you donate to CCHF, we collect personal information such as your name, email address and postal code.
CCHF also automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address and the page you requested.
We use this information for the following general purposes:
- to improve our services
- to contact you
- to conduct research
- to provide anonymized reporting for internal and external clients
How we share and disclose information
CCHF does not rent, sell or share personal information about you with other people or non-affiliated companies except to provide the products or services you have requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:
- To respond to subpoenas, court orders or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.
How to correct or update your personal information
You can change your donor information (name, address, etc.) in our database by contacting our customer support team at firstname.lastname@example.org or by clicking here.
Donors who have previously opted in to external communication lists and services can also use the above contacts to inform CCHF should you no longer wish to have your personal information shared outside of the organization.
Confidentiality and security
Your personal information will be accessible only to employees who we reasonably believe need access in order to do their jobs or to provide you with the products or services you requested.
To protect your personal information, we have physical, electronic and procedural safeguards in place that comply with applicable regulations. CCHF also uses industry-standard SSL-encryption to protect data transmissions in certain areas.

SMS Equipment Payroll Deduction
If you join the SMS Equipment Payroll Deduction Program in support of Children’s Miracle Network, we may ask for your name, email and mailing address for the purposes of receipting, providing ongoing information about the hospital foundation, and other relevant children’s healthcare communications. Any personal information you supply will not be disclosed to anyone except the local children’s hospital foundation that you selected your donation to be directed to, Canada’s Children’s Hospital Foundations (owners of Children’s Miracle Network Canada), and SMS Equipment.
CCHF may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes affecting how we treat your personal information by sending a notice to your primary email address specified in your CCHF account or by placing a prominent notice on our website.
